Valahia University of Targoviște hosted on May 21-23, 2023 meeting of the Knowledge and Creativity European University consortium (KreativEU), which included, in addition to the host institution, Polytechnic University of Tomar (Portugal), Dimitar A. Tsenov Academy of Economics (Bulgaria), University of South Bohemia (Czech Republic), University of Camerino (Italy), University of Trnava and Adana Science and Technology University. The meeting, chaired by the rector of Valahia University in Targoviste, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Laura-Monica Gorghiu, and attended by the senior leadership of seven universities, reviewed the four European and international projects submitted for funding by the members of the partnership this year through the European Universities initiative, Erasmus Mundus, Cooperation partnerships in higher education, and UNESCO UNITWIN Network. At the same time, the themes and objectives of two projects to be submitted in 2024 under the EU’s Capacity Building programme were determined. To develop and manage the collaborative projects, it was decided to establish focus groups and working groups, with each university serving as the supervisor of one of these groups. It is being considered, among other things, to submit seven research projects through the EU Horizon programme, in addition to other projects that will be proposed through other programmes and that will contribute to the attainment of the educational, research, and internationalisation objectives of the seven higher education institutions.
Monday, May 22, 2023, in the amphitheatre of the Multidisciplinary Scientific and Technological Research Institute of “Valahia” University in Targoviște, the rectors, vice-rectors, and directors of the Erasmus offices of the Kreativ EU partner universities engaged in a dialogue with the students regarding the study mobilities made available to them through the Erasmus Plus programme, the facilities provided by the host universities, and the study and leisure conditions.
On the occasion of the meeting, a series of documentary visits were made to the historical and heritage sites of national importance, allowing participants to become acquainted with some of the most impressive cultural sites and giving them the opportunity to converse with the alumni of Valahia University who guided the tours in the museums visited.
