The Welcome Program for new international students on campus is aimed to help them acclimate, connect with their peers, and understand the university’s resources.
Day 1, Wednesday, 8th November 2023:
Orientation, Academic Exploration and Community Engagement
Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Science and Technology building, Library
- 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Registration and check-in in hall of the Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Science and Technology building (ICSTM).
- 10:00 AM – 10:15 AM: The Official Year Opening for International Students.
- 10:15 AM – 10:30 AM: Icebreaker activities to help students get to know each other.
- 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM: Getting to know the Student League of Valahia University.
- 11:00 AM – 12:00 AM: Orientation session covering university policies, campus and IT resources, and support services.
- 12:00 AM – 13:00 PM: Meeting with Employers and Stakeholders.
- 13:00 AM – 14:30 PM: Academic visit of the faculties situated in the Campus.
- 14:30 AM – 15:00 PM: Getting to know your library and library resources.
Evening: Cultural Interchange: Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Science and Technology building
- 17:00 PM – 18:00 PM: Present your country and region – cultural interchange featuring performances, presentations, and displays from your countries.
Day 2: Thursday, 9th November 2023:
Research and Cultural Exploration

- 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Research visit of the Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Science and Technology.
- 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Heritage of Romania in a nutshell, presentation by Prof. Dr. Silviu Miloiu, Vice-Rector for Institutional Development and International Relations.
- 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM: The Romanian Academic Culture, presentation by Lecturer Dr. Ioana Raicu, Head of the Department of Letters.
Day 3: Friday, 10th November 2023:
International Engagement
- 10:00 AM: Meeting in front of the Erasmus and International Relations Office (Poet Grigore Alexandrescu, nr 37 A)
- 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Visit of the Erasmus Plus and International Relations Office and getting to know our Erasmus Plus mobilities.
- 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Meeting with the Immigration Office.
Day 4: Saturday, 11th November 2023:
Heritage Exploration of Medieval City of Targoviste
- 10:00 AM: Meeting in front of the Complexul Național Muzeal ”Curtea Domnească” din Târgoviște („The National Museum Complex Curtea Domnească in Târgoviște”), Calea Domneasca, no. 181.
- 10:00 AM – 12:00 AM: Visit of the National Museum Complex Curtea Domnească in Târgoviște and its subordinate museums.
- 12:30 PM – 13:00 PM: Student panel sharing their experiences and tips for success.
- 13:00 PM – Farewell.
